Fireworks

A diptych about intimacy. The work takes on the beauty and destruction within adolescent desires to feel something intensely. It explores the search for excitement through closeness, risk, another person, or moments of escape where tenderness and danger sit closely together. 

Rather than presenting these moments as separate, the work draws them together as parallel acts of longing...attempts to create a spark, to interrupt the weight of the everyday, and to be changed, even briefly, by something bright.
