Behind The Lights

This painting is inspired by the Toyoko Kids (トー横キッズ), a group of teenagers in Japan who have run away from home due to abuse, neglect, and other hardships. Living on the streets of Tokyo, many face harsh realities. Their lives are often misunderstood as carefree or glamorous, but this perception hides a much darker truth. Through this work, I aim to challenge these misconceptions and bring awareness to their struggles, encouraging a deeper sense of understanding.
